Geo-MOD: Teaching photogrammetry-based data acquisition

UNIS is arranging the “GEO-MOD: Teaching photogrammetry-based data acquisition” course from 19-24 June 2023 in Longyearbyen, Svalbard. The course is intended for UNIS Ph.D./Master/Bachelor students and scientific and technical staff that want to learn or improve their photogrammetry skills to produce and publish 3D and DEM data. No previous experience with UAVs (i.e., drones, fixed-wings) and photogrammetry is required. However, prior GIS knowledge is recommended.

Thanks to funding from NfiP, students from mainland Norway NFiP members (UiB, UiO, UiS, NTNU and UiT) accepted on the course can get support for travelling to Svalbard. If you are interested in participating please apply by the 31st of May 2023. Your application should include:

  • Your name
  • Your home institution
  • Your academic level (BSc, MSc, PhD)
  • A short (max 200 words) motivation letter for attending the course and how it relates to your ongoing research projects
